Last year at Morpheous Bondage Extravaganza Abequilbium and I won a pair of tickets to Bondage Expo Dallas 2015. After meeting a couple of the BED organizers, and hanging out with some of the BED staff all weekend, BED quickly became something we were looking forward to.
Thursday
We jumped on a plane to DFW. We were greeted there by our super amazing host, luluincam0. She is a golden soul, who like much of the BED staff/volunteers, went way above and beyond anything asked of her. We stayed with lulu and a new friend, doll, for the weekend. These two ladies were such a delight. We couldn’t ask for better bunk mates.
That evening we collected a few friends and joined a small group of people for dinner at a fancy burger joint. The food was alright and the beer was… surprisingly decent. We retired fairly early.
Friday
Registration day. Reconnecting old and creating new friendships with familiar faces was quite nostalgic. We see these people and their fruits every day on the Internet. Even when you don’t know someone personally, you feel like you know them. At this point, after several years of attending Bondage Conferences we’ve developed friendships with a good number of people. It’s kind of weird to be at a conference where you actually know so many individuals. Work conferences are nothing like this!
We attended a Beginner suspension bottoming class by fuocco and tifereth. This class was put together really well by two experienced bottoms and their crew. 5 stars to them.
The meet and greet filled the evening followed by a couple of stellar performances.
There was a play party that evening as well. For some odd reason, I assumed I had 4+ days to tie with people. After all, I arrived on Thursday and was scheduled to depart on Monday evening. That wasn’t so, as the play parties were scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings.
Saturday
The conference is in full swing. We attended Wykd Dave and Clover’s Pressure and Time class. They’re always a treat to observe. In the afternoon I TA’d the Kazami class and then stayed put for the thoroughly entertaining Kinbaku 360 program.
Sunday
OsakaDan kicked off our morning with his performance techniques class which was followed by Wykd Dave and Clover’s Teaching Rope. After lunch I TA’d Kazami’s Ryouwaki Sarashi class and met some really awesome folks.
Following the closing ceremonies, we helped the BED crew tear down that joint. We have never been more thankful for the efforts of a giant team, and the least we could do was help out. It’s not all work, there was of course bamboo jousting with Abequilibrium on my back and Cannon with Tifereth on his. We joust was screamed as we charged into one another with 8″ bamboo lengths. Cannon’s bamboo managed to bury itself in the end of my bamboo. Equal diameters would have been a stalemate.
Later that night while eating pizza, we decided to do an impromptu tie + photo shoot featuring Ryouwaki Sarashi.
There was an after party at The Church. We arrived at 10:30 having missed a performance due to some mistaken information. We arrived in time to see three of the performances.
Monday
A small group of us went touring around downtown Dallas followed by a nice lunch at the Dallas Chop House. We were quickly whisked off to the airport by the lovely luluincam0 just in time for our flight.
To everyone involved in BED, we send you a huge thank you. This was one of the best cons we have attended, and each one of you made it so.
